Characterisation of Osteoporosis, risks & prevention Prof. René Rizzoli congresso: null Osteoporosis is increasingly becoming an important issue, this is mainly due to the ageing of the population. Women are at greater risk, however men are also endangered. Mortality subsequent to hip fracture is not uncommon, however morbidity due to handicaps and very long hospitalization are just some other important issues to deal with. Prevention, at all levels, still remains the best cure. |
