There is no current cure for OA.  The treatments which are available today have a moderate effect on pain and some of them improve joint functions. During the session, chaired by Prof. Serteyn and Prof. Dieppe, dedicated to the new therapeutic directions in osteoarthritis, Prof. Yves Henrotin of the University of Liège, gives a presentation on "A modern approach to an old disease: Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) therapy in OA", during the BMJD 2nd World Congress on Controversies, Debates & Consensus in Bone, Muscle & Joint Diseases.
