The two branches of medicine that deal with dysfunctions affecting the female and male genital system, also known as the "reproductive", are respectively gynecology and andrology. The alterations that affect the reproductive system of women are numerous, but there are some more frequent ones, such as: polyps, fibroids, endometriosis, tumors of the genital tract, vaginal atrophy, polycystic ovary syndrome and vaginal infections. Then there are the problems of infertility and sexually transmitted diseases, which affect both women and men. Female infertility, responsible for 35-40% of infertility in couples, can depend on various causes: hormonal and tubal alterations, uterine pathologies, systemic or genetic diseases and the age of the patient.
