Atrial fibrillation is an increasingly prevalent disease, connected to a large number of serious diseases and considered to be the direct cause of over 20 percent of all ischemic strokes in the world. Hence there is a need to diagnose the disease as early as possible to monitor it. This is not a simple task because atrial fibrillation, in about 30 percent of cases, is asymptomatic. The valuable work of patient organizations like AIPA (Associazione Italiana Pazienti Anticoagulanti) has the merit of informing and sensitizing the public on these issues and promotes diagnostic checks
