The CIO's XVI meeting focuses on femor and knee fractures treated with implants or fractures occured in or around already existing protheses. These type of fractures are becoming more frequent due to the average increase of the ageing population and their demand for optimum functionality. The congress will also host special learning sessions for graduate students, the problems of very elderly (by the Italian Association of Geriatric Orthopaedic and Traumatology) and a third session, by the Italian Ssciety of External Fixation, will cover the topic of fractures of lower and upper joints.
