The International Conference in Lugano was founded in 1981 to bring together researchers and clinicians dealing with malignant lymphomas. The goal was to integrate knowledge of the disease and to foster multidisciplinary development. Attendance has grown from 300 participants at the first Conference to 4000: the Conference is considered the top world event on lymphoid neoplasms. At the beginning of each Conference, a special workshop features 50-60 of the leading experts who outline the main lines of research regarding this disease.
