The new guidelines on hypertension are particularly innovative as far as diabetic patients are concerned. Now a careful revision of previous guidelines indicate that also the hypertensive patients with diabetes should be treated to reach the target of below 140 mmHg systolic blood pressure whereas the diastolic pressure should be around 80/85 mmHg.
