Celiac disease: knowing the needs of young people to stimulate their attention
Seventy percent of children and teens with celiac disease are not diagnosed before the age of 20. This delay in ascertaining the disease leads to an aggravation of its complications. One of the causes of this phenomenon is the inability of young patients to recognize the atypical symptoms of celiac disease. The tools of the "awareness" campaign launched in Liguria are the information and training of those directly involved, in order to reduce diagnosis times.
